Students go through a lot of challenges throughout their academic careers. Deadlines and lots of assignments put a lot of stress on everyone, especially considering the pandemic and changes that we all need to get used to. If you face hard times fighting with study anxiety, keep reading this article to learn more about how you can make your life easier and happier.

Acknowledge the Problem

The first step in problem-solving is defining the problem itself. How can you tell if you are living under the pressure of anxiety? Here are a few signs that you are

  • You find it hard to wake up in the morning. You might not want to leave your cozy bed and going to your classes because of your fright or lack of motivation, energy, etc.
  • You find your classes and homework difficult to manage. You also find yourself worrying a lot about missing another deadline. You feel irritated and scared.
  • Your appetite and sleep schedule have changed. You might not be hungry at all though you haven’t eaten all day, or you might experience excessive hunger that you are not used to. You also face trouble falling asleep or wake up multiple times through the night being worried or scared.
  • You find it hard to communicate with other people and make friends with anyone.
  • You are too emotional or vice versa – you feel numb and indifferent.

If you experience any of these signs, it will be better for you to turn to a specialist to get professional help. Once you understand that it’s anxiety that you are struggling with, there are a few things that might help you beat study stress.

Breathe

The easiest therapy exercise that helps beat anxiety is breathing. Take a few deep breaths while sitting comfortably. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth, breathe slowly.

When you have a lot of thoughts crossing your mind that make you feel anxious and scared, you need to calm down and clearly understand what you need to do next. Don’t try to push your thoughts away, but concentrate on thinking logically and rationally instead. For example, think about what exact steps you need to take to complete a task on time or what things you need to say during the conversation that will shortly occur. Think these things through and try to organize them in your mind, so you have a clear plan.

Focus on Self-Care

It’s crucially painful when a person loses care for themselves and the world around them because of study anxiety. Even if you don’t feel like doing so, you need to do more for your comfort, your looks, and your mental and physical health. It’s very easy to cross the line and become a victim of various bad habits. But you don’t need to be that person.

Take your time and learn how to take care of yourself. Do what you enjoy doing, like going to a movie or SPA, journaling, doing yoga, or working out. These simple things help us remember that we are the ones that we should love and respect in the first place.

Don’t Put Much on Your Shoulders

There are a lot of people around us who put the weight of their expectations on us, making it hard for us to just live our lives without being scared to let these people down. Sometimes we are those people. Sometimes it’s our parents or teachers who want nothing but the best for us, but still, make us feel obligated.

You should do what you love and the way you can. Don’t try too hard as it might cause too much stress to handle on your own. Don’t try to put all the tasks at once on your shoulders. And even if something isn’t going just as you (or someone else) was expecting doesn’t mean that you are less of a value. Keep moving forward to your dreams, and don’t let other people tell you what those dreams should be. You are the one who knows the best.

Being not as successful as you thought you would be as a student is also not a catastrophe at all. It seems to be very important now. But the truth is – in a few years, you won’t even remember about that essay that you once failed. And if you need any help with your assignments, you can always turn to us for help. You can share your burden with us, making your life a little easier. When you can get rid of some bothering tasks that you are anxious about, why not let others do it for you?
